Our Orchestras

The PYO offers two orchestras to best fit our members’ abilities. Find out which orchestra is the best fit for you.  

• The Pocono Junior Strings Orchestra
• The Pocono Youth Orchestra

Rehearsal Location and Schedule

The PYO orchestras rehearse weekly at the Stroudsburg Junior High School in Stroudsburg, PA.  Visit the Rehearsal Information page for details.

• The PJSO rehearses on Tuesdays from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM
• The PYO rehearses on Thursdays from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM.

Concert Location and Schedule

We perform publicly three times per season at Celia S. Cohen Hall at East Stroudsburg University. Visit the Concert Information page for details.

Tuition

The PYO is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is funded almost entirely by community donations and member tuition.  Tuition is due by the first rehearsal. Please complete and submit the registration form and tuition payment by the due date. To request approval for alternative payment arrangements, please contact us.

Register and pay by August 19, 2025 for a pre-season discount.

2025-2026 Season Tuition and Due Dates

• PJSO: $360 by August 26, 2025
• PYO Strings : $450 by August 28, 2025
• PYO Brass/Woodwinds/Percussion: $300 by November 20, 2025

Student Awards and Scholarships

The PYO typically offers awards and scholarships to our students annually. Details will be communicated to eligible students for consideration for the Suzanne E. Andersen Memorial Scholarship and the PYO Excellency Award.  If you would like to sponsor an award, please contact us.

PYO Mentor Program

The PYO offers a mentor program to help develop the skills of our PJSO students and the leadership qualities of our PYO students.  PJSO students can request free individual coaching from a PYO student. Experienced PYO students will participate in PJSO rehearsals and offer individual coaching as needed. If interested, please complete the 2025-26 Mentor form.
